TERMS & CONDITIONS OF SALE

One-of-a-kind upcycled jackets, reimagined necklaces and statement jewellery

ABN 39 251 853 165

Last updated: 5 August 2026

PLEASE READ BEFORE ORDERING

One of a kind: Each piece is made from reclaimed or pre-existing garments and components. Its item-specific condition report and photographs form part of the product description.

Check jacket measurements: Garment measurements are not body measurements. Compare the listing with a similar jacket you already own before purchasing.

Change of mind: For Australian customers, we do not accept returns, exchanges or store-credit requests for change of mind, including fit where the published measurements were accurate.

Your legal rights remain: Nothing in these Terms excludes any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

  1. ABOUT THESE TERMS

1.1 These Terms & Conditions of Sale (Terms) apply to products sold by Red Thread Redux (we, us or our) through [insert website URL] and any other online sales channel that links to these Terms.

1.2 By placing an order, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms. If you are under 18, you must have the permission of a parent or legal guardian to place an order.

1.3 These Terms are to be read with the product listing, our Shipping Information, Sizing & Measuring Guide, Care Guide and Privacy Policy. If an item-specific product listing conflicts with a general statement in these Terms, the item-specific listing applies to the extent of the conflict, except that neither can limit a mandatory legal right.

1.4 Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified. If a mandatory law in your country or region gives you greater protection, that protection prevails to the extent it applies to your purchase.

  1. THE NATURE OF OUR ONE-OF-A-KIND PRODUCTS

2.1 Our jackets and jewellery are one of a kind or produced in very limited quantities. We reclaim and rework pre-existing garments, chains, findings, beads, pendants and other components rather than manufacturing every element from new materials.

2.2 Signs of a previous life may include softened fabric, fading, patina, minor marks, repaired areas, tonal variation, small irregularities and evidence of earlier wear. Hand painting, stitching and embellishment also produce natural variations. These characteristics are part of the individual history and handmade character of the piece, but they do not excuse an undisclosed problem that means the product fails a consumer guarantee.

2.3 Before listing a product, we inspect it with reasonable care for condition, structure and function. Each listing should identify known material wear, damage, repairs or limitations that go beyond the general reclaimed character described above. The written condition report and listing photographs form part of the product description.

2.4 A characteristic or problem that was clearly disclosed to you before purchase will not, by itself, entitle you to a remedy for that same characteristic. You may still have rights in relation to a different or undisclosed problem.

2.5 Because the products are unique, an identical replacement will usually not be available. This does not affect any right you may have to another remedy, including a refund where required by law.

  1. PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS, PHOTOGRAPHS AND MATERIALS

3.1 We aim to describe and photograph every product accurately, including its colour, finish, dimensions, construction, materials where known, condition and any material imperfections identified during inspection.

3.2 Colours can appear differently across screens and lighting conditions. Minor tonal differences that do not make the product materially different from its description are not faults. Material differences from the description are handled under section 11.

3.3 Where original labels or reliable component information are available, we will reproduce that information in the listing. Reclaimed materials cannot always be independently verified. If a fibre, metal, plating, stone or other component is unknown, the listing should say so rather than make an unsupported claim.

3.4 Unless a listing expressly says otherwise, we do not represent that jewellery is hypoallergenic, nickel-free or suitable for a particular sensitivity. If you have allergies or sensitivities, review the listed materials and contact us before ordering.

3.5 If a feature is important to your purchase and the listing is unclear, please contact us before ordering at [insert customer service email].

  1. JACKET SIZING AND FIT

4.1 Each jacket listing provides garment measurements taken with the jacket laid flat. These are measurements of the garment, not of the body. A vintage or original manufacturer size label is provided for reference only and may not correspond with current Australian or international sizing.

4.2 Follow our Sizing & Measuring Guide at [insert Sizing & Measuring Guide link] and compare the listing measurements with a similar jacket you already own and like the fit of. Do not rely only on your usual clothing size.

4.3 Measurements are approximate because they are taken by hand and because fabric, padding and garment construction can affect the result. Unless the listing says otherwise, allow a measurement tolerance of up to 1 cm for each listed measurement.

4.4 You are responsible for deciding whether the listed measurements and cut are suitable for you. If the published measurements were accurate within the stated tolerance and the jacket simply does not fit as you hoped, that is treated as a change of mind. Our change-of-mind policy is in section 9.

4.5 If the listed measurements are materially inaccurate or misleading, or the product is otherwise not as described, your rights under section 11 apply.

  1. JEWELLERY CONDITION, SAFETY AND CARE

5.1 We inspect clasps, links, joins, stringing and other functional parts with reasonable care before listing and again before dispatch. Known material wear, repairs, limitations or fragile elements should be disclosed in the product listing.

5.2 Reclaimed jewellery components may show patina, fine surface marks, plating wear, variations in tone or other age-related characteristics. Item-specific photographs and disclosures are important and should be reviewed before purchase.

5.3 Our jewellery is intended as an adult fashion accessory. It is not a toy and may contain small parts. Keep it away from babies, children and anyone who may place components in their mouth.

5.4 Follow the Care Guide at [insert Care Guide link]. Unless a listing says otherwise, avoid water, perfume, hairspray, cosmetics, cleaning chemicals, impact and prolonged direct sunlight. Stop wearing an item if it causes irritation or appears damaged and contact us if you believe there is a safety issue.

  1. ORDERS, AVAILABILITY AND CONTRACT FORMATION

6.1 Placing an order is an offer to purchase. An automated order acknowledgement confirms that we received your order; it does not by itself mean that we have accepted it. We accept your order when we send a dispatch confirmation, unless we expressly accept it earlier in writing.

6.2 A one-of-a-kind product may occasionally sell through two channels at nearly the same time. If a product is unavailable, or we cannot lawfully supply it to your destination, we will not substitute another product without your agreement. We will cancel the affected item and promptly refund all amounts paid for it.

6.3 Before acceptance, we may decline an order for a genuine stock error, an obvious pricing or description error, suspected fraud, a payment authorisation failure, or a legal or shipping restriction. If payment has been taken, we will promptly refund it.

6.4 After acceptance, we will only cancel an order where permitted by these Terms or by law. If we cancel because we cannot supply the product, you will receive a refund of the amounts paid for the affected product and its delivery.

  1. PRICES AND PAYMENT

7.1 Prices are displayed in the currency shown on the website and are in Australian dollars unless another currency is clearly stated. Australian prices include GST where GST applies. Delivery charges and any optional extras are shown before you complete checkout.

7.2 You authorise our payment provider to charge the amount shown at checkout. Your payment information is handled by the relevant payment provider under its own terms and privacy practices.

7.3 If a price is obviously incorrect, we will contact you before accepting the order. You may confirm the order at the correct price or cancel for a full refund. We will not increase the price after accepting an order.

7.4 Discounts and promotional codes are subject to their stated conditions. They cannot be applied retrospectively unless we agree in writing.

  1. SHIPPING AND DELIVERY

8.1 We ship to the destinations offered at checkout. Shipping charges, available services and estimated delivery windows are displayed before purchase or in our Shipping Information.

8.2 You must provide a complete and accurate delivery address. Contact us immediately if you notice an error. We cannot promise to change an address after dispatch.

8.3 Dispatch and delivery dates are estimates unless we expressly agree to a fixed date. We will notify you of a material known delay. Nothing in this clause limits your rights if we fail to supply within an agreed or reasonable time.

8.4 We use tracked delivery where reasonably available. If your order is delayed, lost, damaged in transit or marked delivered but cannot be located, contact us as soon as practical at [insert customer service email] with your order number and supporting photographs where relevant. Prompt notice helps us investigate, but it is not a condition that removes a statutory right.

8.5 We remain responsible for resolving loss or damage in transit to the extent required by applicable law. We may ask you to assist with a carrier investigation and to keep the packaging while the investigation is underway.

8.6 For international orders, the recipient is responsible for import duties, taxes, customs charges and clearance fees that are not collected at checkout, unless the law requires otherwise. These charges are set by the destination country and are not controlled by us.

8.7 If an order is returned because the address supplied was incorrect, delivery was refused, the parcel was not collected, or required import charges were not paid, contact us to arrange redelivery. We may require payment of reasonable additional delivery costs. If the order is cancelled, any deduction for actual, unrecoverable shipping or import costs will only be made where lawful and will never apply to a return caused by our breach or a failure to meet a consumer guarantee.

  1. CHANGE OF MIND, FIT AND ORDER MISTAKES

9.1 For customers in Australia, we do not accept returns, exchanges or requests for store credit where you simply change your mind, decide you do not like or need the product, choose the wrong item, find it cheaper elsewhere, or experience a fit issue despite the published measurements being accurate within the stated tolerance.

9.2 This policy also applies to sale and promotional items. It does not apply where a product fails a consumer guarantee or where another mandatory law gives you a right to cancel or return.

9.3 If you ask to cancel before dispatch, we may agree to a cancellation or store credit, but we are not required to do so for a change of mind. Any exception must be confirmed by us in writing.

9.4 A voluntary store credit is not a substitute for a refund or other remedy where the law gives you that remedy. We will only provide store credit instead of a legally required refund if you freely agree to it.

  1. MANDATORY CANCELLATION RIGHTS OUTSIDE AUSTRALIA

10.1 Consumer laws differ by destination. If a mandatory law that applies to your purchase gives you a cooling-off, cancellation or withdrawal right, that right applies despite section 9.

10.2 For consumers in the United Kingdom or European Economic Area, applicable distance-selling laws will generally allow you to notify us that you are withdrawing from an eligible online purchase within 14 days after delivery, without giving a reason, and then return it within a further 14 days. Exceptions may apply.

10.3 Our products are usually pre-made before being listed. A product does not become made-to-order or personalised merely because it is one of a kind. If we later offer a product that is made to your specifications or clearly personalised, a statutory exception may apply where the relevant law permits it.

10.4 To exercise a mandatory withdrawal right, email [insert customer service email] before returning the product. Unless we agree otherwise or the product is faulty, you are responsible for the direct return cost where the law permits and where this was disclosed before purchase. We will refund the amounts and standard outbound delivery charges required by law. A lawful reduction may be made for handling beyond what was necessary to establish the product’s nature, characteristics and functioning.

  1. AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW AND FAULTY, UNSAFE OR MISDESCRIBED PRODUCTS

11.1 Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Products must, among other things, be of acceptable quality, be safe, be fit for any disclosed purpose and match their description, taking account of their age, second-hand or reclaimed nature, price and any defects or characteristics disclosed before purchase.

11.2 A product may have a major problem if it is unsafe, is very different from its description, has a serious problem that would have stopped a reasonable consumer buying it if known, or cannot be used for its normal or agreed purpose and cannot easily be fixed within a reasonable time.

11.3 For a major problem, you may be entitled to choose a refund or replacement of the same type. Because our products are one of a kind, a comparable replacement may not be available. Where replacement is not possible, we will provide the remedy required by law. You may also choose to keep the product and seek compensation for its reduced value where the law permits.

11.4 For a minor problem, we may choose to repair the product free of charge within a reasonable time. If we cannot or do not do so within a reasonable time, you may have the further remedies provided by law.

11.5 Where a refund is required, it will be for the amount required by law and will be made using the original payment method unless you agree otherwise. We do not impose restocking, processing or repair fees on statutory remedies.

11.6 Your rights are not limited to a fixed number of days after delivery. Please contact us as soon as reasonably possible after discovering a problem so we can assess and resolve it.

  1. HOW TO REQUEST A RETURN OR REMEDY

12.1 Email [insert customer service email] with your order number, a clear description of the issue and photographs where they will help show the condition or transit damage. We may reasonably ask for proof of purchase and an opportunity to inspect the product.

12.2 Wait for return instructions before sending the product. Package it securely and, where reasonably available, use a tracked service. A faulty product does not have to be returned in its original packaging.

12.3 For products that can be posted or easily returned, you may initially be responsible for arranging the return. If we confirm that the product has a problem covered by the consumer guarantees, we will reimburse your reasonable return costs. Keep your postage receipt. Different mandatory rules may apply in your location and will prevail.

12.4 If an assessment finds no product problem and no mandatory change-of-mind right applies, we may ask you to pay reasonable return-to-you or inspection costs, but only after giving you a reasonable estimate where required by law.

12.5 Do not wear, wash, alter, repair or damage a product beyond what is reasonably necessary to inspect it while a return is being assessed. This does not remove rights relating to an existing problem, but you may be responsible for damage caused after delivery that is unrelated to that problem.

  1. CARE, WEAR AND REPAIRS

13.1 Hand-painted, stitched and embellished surfaces require gentler handling than mass-produced garments. Follow the item-specific instructions and our Care Guide. If instructions conflict, the item-specific instructions take priority.

13.2 Damage caused by misuse, neglect, abnormal wear, failure to follow clear care instructions, unauthorised alteration or an attempted repair by someone else is not a product fault to the extent that conduct caused the damage.

13.3 Normal wear over time, and the continued evolution of patina in reclaimed materials, will depend on use and care. This clause does not excuse premature failure or another problem that means the product does not meet a consumer guarantee.

  1. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND PERMITTED USE

14.1 Once paid for and delivered, you own the physical product. Red Thread Redux retains copyright and other intellectual property rights in our original artwork, photographs, graphics, text and product designs to the extent those rights exist.

14.2 You may wear, style, photograph, gift or resell the physical product, including in personal or business content. You must not copy or reproduce our original artwork or product designs for commercial manufacture or merchandising, or use our product photographs, graphics or text, without our written permission.

  1. PRIVACY

15.1 We collect and use personal information to process payments, fulfil orders, provide customer service, prevent fraud, meet legal obligations and operate our store. We may use service providers such as website hosts, payment processors and delivery carriers for these purposes.

15.2 Please read our Privacy Policy at [insert Privacy Policy link] for more information about how we handle personal information and how to contact us about privacy.

  1. LIABILITY AND MANDATORY RIGHTS

16.1 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability under non-excludable consumer guarantees and liability that cannot be excluded for death, personal injury, fraud or wilful misconduct.

16.2 To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for loss or damage caused by your misuse, failure to follow clear care or safety instructions, an undisclosed use that the product was not reasonably designed for, an alteration or repair made after delivery, or inaccurate delivery information supplied by you.

16.3 Nothing in this section makes you responsible for loss caused by our breach, negligence, an unsafe product or a failure to meet a consumer guarantee.

  1. EVENTS OUTSIDE REASONABLE CONTROL

17.1 We are not responsible for delay caused by an event genuinely outside our reasonable control, but we will take reasonable steps to minimise the effect and keep you informed. This clause does not allow us to keep payment for a product we do not supply and does not limit any mandatory right to cancel or receive a refund.

  1. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

18.1 We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force when you place your order applies to that order. A later change will not retrospectively reduce your rights or alter an accepted order unless you agree or the law requires the change.

  1. RESOLVING CONCERNS

19.1 Please contact us first at [insert customer service email] so we can try to resolve the issue promptly and fairly.

19.2 If we cannot resolve an Australian consumer issue, you may contact the consumer protection agency in your State or Territory. In New South Wales, this is NSW Fair Trading. Customers outside Australia may also have access to consumer authorities or dispute-resolution services in their location.

19.3 Nothing in this section prevents either party from exercising a legal right or seeking an available remedy.

  1. GOVERNING LAW

20.1 These Terms and purchases from us are governed by the laws of New South Wales and the Commonwealth of Australia. The courts and tribunals of New South Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction.

20.2 This governing-law clause does not deprive you of any mandatory consumer protection that applies in the place where you live or where we direct our sales.
